Mejlis wants blood. Blood of Tatars too

The US Ministry of Justice banned the Crimean Tatar People Mejlis, as being an extremist organization. Washington called on Moscow to cancel this „unfounded and illegal” order. What for does the West pile up so much lie around the Crimean-Tatar problem?

„Disappearance” of the Crimean Tatars

The Ministry of Justice satisfied apply of the Crimean Prosecutor General, as well as of the Crimean Tatar population and leaders of their communities to recognize Mejlis’ activity as illegal and provocative one. They also asked to take measures and forbid use of the Crimean Tatar national flag by criminals who had carried out blockade and diversions against the Crimean peoples.

The Ministry’s ban blocks every activity of the Mejlis. Its representatives will not be abler to appear in state or local media, arrange mass demonstrations or use bank accounts.

The Crimean Prosecutor General accused leaders of the organization of cooperation with terror groups mercenaries, such as the Grey Wolves or Hizb ut-Tahrir. It is known that Refat Chubarov, leader of the Mejlis and his predecessor Mustafa Dzhemilev face imprisonment in case they return to Russia. And meanwhile they actively make extremist statements.

Dzhemilev, in particular, claimed that in case a bridge to span the strait of Kerch is built, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will have right to bomb it out. While Refat Chubarov frightens the Crimean people that „Putin is to annihilate the Crimean Tatar people”. The Western media actively writes about dicrimanation, disappearance and even killings of the Tatars, at their instigation.

„The Tatars disappeared during the Ukrainian period, as they were involved in various international ventures, including those connected with military conflicts in Syria and so on,” Vasvi Abduraimov, Chairman of the Milliy Firqa (Peoples Party) non-government organization, told Pravda.Ru. „The work has been carried out under direct involvement of the Ukrainian special serices, these were them who formed teams and sent people in the conflict zones via Hizb ut-Tahrir”.

Now Hizb ut-Tahrir is recognized to be an extremist organization, the politician explained, but in fact formation of a new network out of namely those people is being held.

The only value which was cultivated in the Mejlis is money, Ruslan Balbek, Deputy Prime Minister of the Crimea, wrote on his Facebook. He called leaders of the Mejlis as real extremists, who may not be let not only in Russia, but also „other decent states, including Turkey” in the near future.

Kiev’s response

Reaction in Kiev was unpredictable. Poroshenko defined a „red line”, imitating Obama. „Russia went beyond the limit,” he said. He had admitted before, that he personally coordinated acts of the extremists. „I regularly meet with representatives of the Crimean Tatar people, with Mustafa Dzhemilev, Refat Chubarov, and other activists, not only to support, but also to coordinate their acts,” Poroshenko claimed. The question is how should Russia treat accomplice of the Islamites?

The West also provided its response. Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland noted that representatives of the Crimean Tatars should have right to continue their work. Amnesty International also criticized Russia for annihilating rights of the minorities. And it hasn’t been without Washington.

The US Department Spokesperson John Kirby called on Russia to cancel its decision. The US Department of State believes that the „Russian authorities have no basis or jurisdiction to assert Russian law over Tatar conduct in Ukraine”. Kirby noted that anti-Russian sanctions would not be lifted, while the Crimea was „occupied”.

Mejlis project

The Tatars make up about 12% of the total 2.5mln population of the Crimea. It is evident that the West and Turkey undertake steps to destabilize situation in this part of the Russian territory. The Tatar Islamites, who settled in the Kherson region, are most probably funded by Turkey.

Soros Fund and International Republican Institute governed by Senator John McCain can also be named among organizations that fund the top leaders of Mejlis. The latter is also an anti-Islamic organization, and it didn’t prevent Mejlis from getting money from it.

„Mejlis was a uniquely Ukrainian project, the Ukrainian authorities carried out a program of the Crimea’s exclusion from Russia (de facto), from our common social and cultural environment via this structure,” Vasvi Abduraimov told Pravda.Ru.

De jure, it was made in 1954 and 1991 after collapse of the USSR, the politician reminded. „Thus structure has always maintained a level of interethnic, interconfessional conflict at quite a high level”.

Abduraimov believes they staked on „bloody conflict in the Crimea, where Russians and the Crimean Tatars would be pulled for a combat mortal”. It would be a good ground for involvement of international institutes in our home affairs”.

The politician believes that fled upper circles will have to be responsible for their crimes, which they carried out against its own people and the Crimean Republic. „But the program is maintained, and they will make everything possible to provoke a direct confrontation with our country, to make Russia a direct participant of the conflict in the south-east of Ukraine,” Vasvi Abduraimov told.
