Norway’s men missed out on an automatic Euro 2016 spot after a 2-1 defeat to Italy in Rome on Tuesday evening.
Norway took the lead when Alexander scored after after 23 minutes, and held the lead for until 17 minutes before the end, when Italy equalized.
Nine minutes later Italy scored the winning goal.
Following Italy’s comeback 2-1 victory in Rome, a disappointed Norway coach Per-Mathias Høgmo (photo) was frank about his team’s efforts.
„Congratulations to the Italian team, they played better than us and deserved to win,” he said.
