She is described as being around 5 or 6, has blonde hair and was wearing a pink jacket, pink school bag and possibly pink snow boots with a furry rim.

She was seen at around 9.20am apparently on her own near the Blairgowrie Recreational Centre in the Beeches Road area.

Officers say there was another possible sighting of her on the footpath at the rear of Newhill Primary School between 9.20am and 9.30am.

Sergeant Andrew Ness said: “We are appealing for information from the public to trace this young girl to check that she is OK. Additionally, we are asking that the member of the public who reported the sighting to Newhill Primary School contacts Police Scotland on 101 in order to assist us with our inquiry.

“A woman walking a dog is believed to have been on the footpath at the rear of Newhill Primary School at the time of the sighting of the apparently upset girl.

“We are liaising with both schools and the nursery in the area and can advise that no child is unaccounted for, however we are keen to establish the full circumstances of the child being seen alone and would urge anyone with information to contact us on 101.”
